Our Practice

When it’s time for surgery, you deserve excellent, compassionate care.
You’ll get all of this and more with Dr. DiSaverio.

Everything changes when your doctor tells you that you need surgery. You realize that you aren’t invincible. You become worried. Your friends and loved ones become worried. You replay your entire life and all of its precious moments over and over in your head, and the things you once took for granted, such as spending time with your family, eating at your favorite restaurant or taking a Sunday drive, suddenly seem precious.

These are times when empathy, support and reassurance are needed most. And that’s just what you’ll get from Dr. Joseph DiSaverio. He’s a highly experienced and board-certified surgeon with over two decades of experience who offers you more than skilled hands and today’s most advanced procedures; he also offers a genuine concern for your emotional well-being. His ability to understand your concerns and ease your fears can make the experience a positive one for both you and your loved ones. What’s more, Dr. DiSaverio is affiliated with several local hospitals, including The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, New Jersey. That’s the peace of mind you want and deserve, and you can get it right here in the center of Bergen County with Dr. DiSaverio.

Our Office

What to Expect when one comes to the office for consultation

On your first visit, you will meet Dr. DiSaverio and our Nurse Practitioner, Beth Coll. He will take a medical and vein history and will examine you. If indicated, and it usually is, arrangements will be made to have a thorough venous ultrasound evaluation of the legs by his technician. This will give us a map of the veins in the legs and will identify were the problematic veins are located. On the follow-up appointment, the findings of the physical examination will be integrated with the ultra sound results to help formulate a treatment plan. After you approve the treatment suggestions, the appropriate reports will be submitted to your insurance carrier and we will await their approval.

Insurance

Because varicose veins and associated symptoms are quite common in our society, almost every one can be a candidate for minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. Since the presence of venous insufficiency is considered a medical condition, we can almost always obtain approval from the insurance carriers for related treatments.

In the right circumstances, almost all treatment modalities can be approved by insurance carriers. Even sclerotherapy might be approved by selected insurance companies. Those individuals insured by Medicare, will often have no problem obtaining coverage for treatment of symptoms caused by varicose veins.
